Willa Diota, a member of the Chicago Blackhawks, will play in the 2016 Stanley Cup Final, according to the team.
Diota has been on a tear for the Blackhawks this season, playing in a record 16 playoff games, including a team-record seven-game winning streak.
The Blackhawks finished third in the Central Division, and have won the Stanley Cup three of the last four years.
The team’s decision to keep Diota will have a major impact on the rest of the playoffs.
The Cup will be played in Los Angeles, which will host the defending champion Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday.
The Blackhawks are the only team in the Western Conference that has a Stanley Cup championship banner, but that hasn’t stopped the Blackhawks from playing the game in the city.
Chicago hosted the Stanley in 2011, and won the Cup in 2014.
The Chicago Blackhawks will play the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Trophy Playoffs at Staples Center on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 5 p.m.
ET (Watch live online).
The Stanley Cup will also be on the TV in Los Angles, Calif.
