Will Smith will appear in an upcoming Disney film, “Transgender Us,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film is being written by writer/director Sam Mendes, who previously worked with Smith on “The Social Network.”
The film will be released in 2019, according to THR.
“Transgendered Me” will follow transgender protagonist Will Smith (Smith) as he navigates life as a man and a transgender woman.
“I am a cisgender man and I’m a trans woman,” Will tells the film’s protagonist.
“So how do you find your place in the world?
It’s a great question,” Will answers.
“But it also has a lot of deep questions that you just have to keep asking yourself.
And that’s what I try to do with the film.”
In addition to “Transgirl,” Smith previously appeared in “Dancing With the Stars” and “The Amazing Race.”
“Transwoman,” the film about a transgender female drag queen, premiered in 2018.
Will’s first film, the film “I Am Will Smith,” is currently in post-production and is slated for release in 2019.
Smith’s “Transme” was released in 2018 and follows him as he becomes a man in the process.
The “transme” sequel, “I Will,” premiered in 2019 and follows Will as he continues to transition into his male identity.
